Living in the reality of this blessed hope will mean much\nto every believer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Second Coming of Christ is a Purifying Hope<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is\npure.\u201d (1 John 3:3) The same thought is presented in 1 Corinthians 1:7-8,\n\u201c\u2026waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you\nunto the end, that ye may be<\/em>\nblameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Coming of our Lord is\na Cleansing Hope<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Colossians 3:4-5, we read, \u201cWhen\nChrist, who is<\/em> our\nlife, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify\ntherefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness,\ninordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Second Coming of\nChrist is a Strengthening Hope<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLet your moderation\nbe known unto all men. The Lord is<\/em>\nat hand.\u201d (Philippians 4:5). We need spiritual fiber for our daily walk with the\nLord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Blessed Hope is a\nPatient Hope<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBe patient therefore, brethren, unto\nthe coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit\nof the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and\nlatter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the\nLord draweth nigh.\u201d (James 5:7-8)<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Return of Christ is a Love-Giving Hope<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd the\nLord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all\nmen<\/em>, even as we do<\/em> toward you: To the end he\nmay stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father,\nat the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.\u201d (1 Thessalonians\n3:12-13. How little love there seems to be among Christians! So often there is\njealousy, envy, backbiting, and devouring of one another. God grant more love\nin these last days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Coming of the Lord is a Heavenly Hope<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFor our conversation\nis in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:\u201d\n(Philippians 3:20). This hope helps us to realize we are heaven-bound, and we\nare not to live for time and for the things of this world, as so many believers\nare doing today.
