Text<\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I Corinthians 10:31-33<\/li>
\u00a0\u201cWhether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.\u201d \u2013 I Corinthians 10:31<\/li>
Intro<\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Bible commands us to \u201cdo all to the glory of God.\u201d
This introduces the question: \u00a0\u201cHow can we glorify God?\u201d <\/li><\/ul>
The Bible gives 12 main ways that we can glorify God.
If we focus our efforts in these 12 areas, our lives will truly bring much glory to God.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
1.\u00a0 By Preaching the Gospel<\/strong>.
See 2 Cor. 4:4 \u2013 <\/strong>\u00a0\u201cthe light of the glorious gospel of Christ.\u201d
The gospel is glorious because it makes known our glorious God\u2019s nature and His simple plan of salvation. <\/li><\/ul>
The gospel leads ignorant, weak, sinful, degraded men to a world of light.<\/li><\/ul>
It is glorious and enlightening because of its splendor, beauty, certainty of heaven, forgiveness, fellowship and love that it gives to men \u2013
Compared with the dark, despairing and hopeless systems of philosophy and heathenism that man thinks up.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
2.\u00a0 By Offering Praise to God<\/strong>.
Psalm 50:23 <\/strong>\u2013 \u201cWhoso offereth praise glorifieth me.\u201d
Praise involves giving God our love, thanksgiving, worship and talents to serve Him.<\/li><\/ul>
When a sinner receives Christ as his Saviour and confesses with his mouth the Lord Jesus, he is glorfying God. <\/li><\/ul>
Do you praise God daily? <\/li><\/ul>
Jesus said \u2013 \u201cHe (the Holy Spirit) shall glorify me.\u201d (John 16:14<\/strong>). <\/li><\/ul>
Do you who have the indwelling Holy Spirit, glorify Christ?<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
3.\u00a0 By Bearing much fruit<\/strong>.
John 15:8<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cherein is my Father glorified that ye bear much fruit.\u201d <\/li><\/ul>
Several different kinds of spiritual fruit are named in the Bible.
We bear fruit<\/strong>
When we win others to Christ (Rom. 1:13<\/strong>). <\/li><\/ul>
When we are a part of the harvest (John 4:35-38<\/strong>).<\/li><\/ul>
As we grow in holiness and obedience, we are bearing fruit (Rom. 6:22<\/strong>). <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>
Paul considered Christian giving to be fruit from a dedicated life (Rom. 15:28<\/strong>). <\/li><\/ul>
\u201cThe fruit of the Spirit\u201d (Gal. 5:22-23<\/strong>) is the kind of Christian character that glorifies God and makes Christ real to others.<\/li><\/ul>
Even our good works, our service, grow out of our abiding life (Col. 1:10<\/strong>). <\/li><\/ul>
The praise that comes from our hearts and lips is actually fruit to the glory of God (Heb. 13:15<\/strong>).<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
4.\u00a0 By Finishing the work which God gives us to do<\/strong>. (
John 17<\/strong>:4<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
5.\u00a0 By Keeping ourselves from evil in the world<\/strong>.
John 17:10,15<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
6.\u00a0 When sinners get saved and become preachers<\/strong>.
For example, Paul.
Galatians1:23-24<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
7.\u00a0 When we fulfill God\u2019s will for our life the name of our Lord Jesus<\/strong>
2 Thess. 1:11-12<\/strong>
Christ is glorified \u2013 v. 12.<\/li><\/ul>
When we fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
8.\u00a0 When the Word of God has free course<\/strong> \u2013 not hindered.
2 Thessalonians 3:1<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
9.\u00a0 When we speak as the Oracles of God, and minister (serve) to the best of our ability that God gives us<\/strong>.
I Peter 4:11<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
10.\u00a0 When we are reproached for the name of Christ, and respond cheerfully<\/strong>.
I Peter 4:14<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God<\/strong>:<\/li>
11.\u00a0 When God delivers us from trouble<\/strong>.
Psalm 50:15<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
God will be glorified \u2013<\/strong><\/li>
12.\u00a0When all nations come and worship Christ in the Millennium at Jerusalem<\/strong>.
Psalm 86:9<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
We glorify God now by studying and teaching about Jesus Christ\u2019s second coming.<\/li>
