\u201cThen fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day\u201d (Acts 27:29).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After you have found your place in the church, which is the body of Christ, you will need four anchors to keep you as you journey on awaiting His return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. The Anchor of Faith \u201d \u2026 for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day\u201d (2 Timothy 1: 12).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
a. The need of a strong faith-Luke 22:32.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
b. Why should we let our faith fail?- Hebrews 4:2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
c. Can you say, \u201cIn every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. The Anchor of Prayer \u201cPraying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints\u201d (Ephesians 6: 18).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
a. Instruction is given- 1 Thessalonians 5: 17; 1 Timothy 2:8; Matthew 26:41.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
b. \u201cPrayer is appointed to convey the blessings God designs to give: long as they live should Christians pray; they learn to pray when first alive in Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. The Anchor of Divine Worship \u201cAnd they continued stedfastly in the apostles\u2019 doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers\u201d (Acts 2:42).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
a. Exhortation-Hebrews 10:25; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
b. In Revelation 1:10, John was in the Spirit in the Lord\u2019s Day morning, and we have as a result the book of Revelation. Had John been away visiting, he would have missed the visit of the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. The Anchor of Christian Service \u201cAnd that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses to these things\u201d (Luke 24:4 7 -48).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
a. Our commission-Mark 16: 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
b. We are labourers-2 Corinthians 6:1; 1 Corinthians 3:9-15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
c. We are at war with evil- Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Timothy 6:12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
