Text<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I Corinthians 14:7-9.<\/li>
Intro<\/u><\/strong>:
There are 6 little words of only one syllable in the Bible, yet though seemingly unimportant, they convey some of the greatest truths in the universe.<\/li>
These 6 little words are
SO<\/strong>,<\/li><\/ul>
LO<\/strong>,<\/li><\/ul>
HO<\/strong>,<\/li><\/ul>
NO<\/strong>,<\/li><\/ul>
GO<\/strong>,<\/li><\/ul>
WOE<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
Let us make these little words a big part of our life:<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
1.\u00a0\u00a0 SO<\/u><\/strong> = to a SURPASSING DEGREE.
\u2018For God SO<\/u><\/strong> loved the world that he gave.\u2019 (John 3:16).
\u2018SO<\/strong>\u2019 describes the greatness of God\u2019s love to all mankind.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
a) God\u2019s part: \u2013 loving and giving.<\/li>
b) Man\u2019s part: \u2013 believing and receiving eternal life.
\u2018Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God.\u2019 I John 3:1<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>
\u2018We love him because he first loved us.\u2019 (I John 4:19<\/strong>).
Even if we don\u2019t love God, He loves us.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
2.\u00a0\u00a0 LO<\/u><\/strong> = to DRAW ATTENTION TO.
\u2018Then said I, LO, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God\u2019. (Hebrews 10:7<\/strong>).
These words \u201cLO, I come\u201d, excite heaven, make devils tremble, and make believers rejoice because the Son of God has come.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
If Christ had not come, there would be:
no salvation,<\/li><\/ul>
no hope,<\/li><\/ul>
no forgiveness of sins,<\/li><\/ul>
no peace,<\/li><\/ul>
no justification,<\/li><\/ul>
and no heaven,
just sin, darkness, judgment and hell.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
\u2018LO<\/u><\/strong>\u2019 gives hope to the sinner.
We need to draw people\u2019s attention to the fact that Christ has come, died and rose again for the sins of the world, and eternal life is available.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
\u2018LO<\/u><\/strong>\u2019 tells of Christ\u2019s voluntary coming to earth.
Christ came to fulfill Old Testament prophecies, and to be the sacrifice for our sins.<\/li><\/ul>
Let us draw people\u2019s attention to Christ\u2019s sacrifice for their sins.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
3.\u00a0\u00a0 HO<\/u><\/strong> = SURPRISE, TRIUMPH, INVITATION to salvation:
\u2018HO<\/u><\/strong>, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money: come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.\u2019 (Isaiah 55:1<\/strong>).<\/li>
HO<\/u><\/strong> = a word of invitation to salvation full and free,
\u2018without money and without price\u2019 (to us), yet \u2018with a price\u2019 (to Christ).
\u2018For ye are bought with a price.\u2019 (I Corinthians 6:20<\/strong>).<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
Jesus paid the full price for our salvation.
If we know that price, we dare not \u2018neglect so great salvation<\/strong>.\u2019<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
4.\u00a0\u00a0 NO<\/u><\/strong> = ABSENCE OF.
\u2018There is therefore now NO<\/u><\/strong> CONDEMNATION to them which are in Christ Jesus.\u2019 (Romans 8:1<\/strong>).
NO CONDEMNATION is great news to a convicted sinner.
a)\u00a0Where is there no condemnation? \u2013 In Christ Jesus.<\/li><\/ul>
b) To whom is there no condemnation? \u2013 To them which are in Christ Jesus.<\/li><\/ul>
c) When is there no condemnation? \u2013 NOW.<\/li><\/ul>
d) Why is there no condemnation? \u2013 Because the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all \u2013 Isaiah 53:6<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
Romans 8 begins with \u2018no condemnation \u2019(8:1<\/strong>) and ends with \u2018no separation\u2019 (Rom.<\/strong> 8:35-39<\/strong>).
See John 5:24<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
5.\u00a0\u00a0 GO<\/u><\/strong> = MOVEMENT FROM A PLACE.
\u201cGo<\/strong> and preach the gospel to every creature.\u201d \u2013 Mark 16:15<\/strong><\/li>
\u201cGo<\/strong> ye therefore and teach all nations, baptising them\u2026..\u201d Matthew 28:19-20<\/strong>).<\/li>
\u201cGo<\/strong> home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.\u201d \u2013 Mark 5:19<\/strong><\/li>
\u201cGo<\/strong> out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.\u201d \u2013 Luke 14:23<\/strong><\/li>
This is a command from Christ to His disciples to go and tell.
Let us respond to Christ\u2019s call by saying \u201cHere am I, send me\u201d. (Isaiah 6:8<\/strong>).<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
6.\u00a0\u00a0 WOE<\/u><\/strong> = AFFLICTION, BITTER GRIEF, CALAMITY, CURSE ON.
The Apostle Paul said \u2013 \u2018Yea, Woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.\u2019 I Corinthians 9:26<\/strong>.
There are millions of people that are searching for the truth of God.<\/li><\/ul>
They need someone to show them.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
\u201cIf thou forbear (abstain from) to deliver them that are drawn unto death..\u2019 Proverbs 24:11-12<\/strong>.
If you are really saved, you\u2019ll want to see others saved.<\/li><\/ul>
If you really know the Lord Jesus, you\u2019ll want others to know Him, and live like Him.<\/li><\/ul>
If you really know something of heaven, you\u2019ll want others to go there.<\/li><\/ul>
If you really know the power of the Gospel, you\u2019ll say with Paul in Romans 1:14-16<\/strong>, \u201cI am a debtor, I am ready to preach the gospel, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.\u201d<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li>
Conclusion<\/u><\/strong>:
SO<\/u><\/strong> = to a SURPASSING DEGREE<\/li>
LO<\/u><\/strong> = to DRAW ATTENTION TO<\/li>
HO<\/u><\/strong> = SURPRISE, TRIUMPH, INVITATION to salvation:<\/li>
NO<\/u><\/strong> = ABSENCE OF.<\/li>
GO<\/u><\/strong> = MOVEMENT FROM A PLACE<\/li>
WOE<\/u><\/strong> = AFFLICTION, BITTER GRIEF, CALAMITY, CURSE ON<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
