\u201cAs birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and<\/em> passing over he will preserve it.\u201d <\/strong>Isaiah 31:5<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The verse saw its fulfillment (or a least partial fulfillment) during World War I when General Allenby flew over Jerusalem and scared the daylights out of the Turks who had occupied the city for seven centuries. Being ancient Muslims who had never seen an airplane, they fled the city without a shot being fired. The British took control of Jerusalem and eventually the Jews would occupy the city in their own sovereign state (1948).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.\u201d<\/strong> Isaiah 32:17<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.\u201d <\/strong>Romans 14:17<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;\u201d<\/strong> Hebrews 7:2<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peace, quietness, and assurance come after righteousness has been embraced, which means it will not come until Jesus returns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.\u201d<\/strong> Isaiah 35:10<\/p>\n\n\n\n
