This is a great eternal security passage. It can also be used to expose the fallacy that \u201cGod loves everybody.\u201d God\u2019s love is not universal; it is \u201cin Christ Jesus our Lord.\u201d He so loved (past tense) the world (at Calvary) that he gave his Son. Those who reject His Son also reject his love and receive his wrath instead (John 3:36). \u201c<\/strong>He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor they being ignorant of God\u2019s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.\u201d<\/strong> Romans 10:3<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s what people are doing: seeking to establish their own <\/em>righteousness instead of submitting to God\u2019s <\/em>righteousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.\u201d<\/strong> Romans 10:9-10<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s another couple verses from the Roman\u2019s Road group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.\u201d<\/strong> Romans 10:13<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lord really has a way of simplifying salvation. How can anything be more simple than calling on someone? No good works, no baptism, no church membership\u2014just asking.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo then faith cometh<\/em> by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.\u201d<\/strong> Romans 10:17<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faith isn\u2019t blind. Faith is based on God\u2019s word. So, since it takes faith to be saved (Eph. 2:8-9, \u201cFor by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is<\/em> the gift of God: ^{\u00a0<\/sup>Not of works, lest any man should boast.\u201d),<\/strong> it takes God\u2019s word to be saved (1 Pet. 1:23, \u201cBeing born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.\u201d<\/strong>). The proper order is fact, faith, then feeling.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"}
