1. Refusal of wisdom\u2019s call<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Disregard of her invitation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBecause I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;\u201d<\/strong> (Proverbs 1:24)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Setting at naught her counsel<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Rejection of her reproof<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:\u201d<\/strong> (Proverbs 1:29)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Hatred of her knowledge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Refusal of fear of the Lord<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.\u201d<\/strong> (Proverbs 1:30)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Rejection of wisdom\u2019s counsel<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Despising her reproof<\/p>\n\n\n\n

^{\u201c<\/sup><\/strong>Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.\u201d<\/strong> (Proverbs 1:31)<\/p>\n\n\n\n}

9. Reaping fruit of own way<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Being filled with own schemes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

^{\u201c<\/sup><\/strong>For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.\u201d<\/strong> (Proverbs 1:32)<\/p>\n\n\n\n}

11. Turning away or backsliding<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12. Being satisfied with prosperity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wisdom is personified here indicating that every man is endowed with natural faculties to know right from wrong and to make godly decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat<\/em><\/strong> was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.\u201d<\/strong> (John 1:9)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

^{\u201c<\/sup><\/strong>For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;<\/a> (For not the hearers of the law\u00a0are<\/em>\u00a0just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.<\/a> For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their<\/em> thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)<\/a> In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.<\/a>\u201d<\/strong> (Romans 2:12-16)<\/p>\n\n\n\n}

It is man\u2019s own God-given wisdom which will laugh and mock at the calamity he brings upon himself through folly and rejection of her pleading. \u00a0See Psalm 1<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
