\u201cLay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men\u2019s sins: keep thyself pure.\u201d<\/strong> 1 Timothy 5:22<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.^{<\/sup>These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.\u201d<\/strong> Jude 1:18-19<\/p>\n\n\n\n}

I. Three enemies of purity<\/strong>: World (I John 2:15-17), Flesh (Jeremiah 17:9), Devil (I Peter 5:8). Satan seeks to wreck our lives by impurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

II. Why Purity<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. One must be pure to enter heaven. Matthew 5:8, Psalm 24:3,4; I Corinthians 6:9,10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Purity enables us to avoid judgment. 2 Peter 2:6; Ecclesiastes 11:9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Purity enables us to avoid defilement. I Corinthians 6:18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Purity is the best way to enjoy life. Hebrews 13:4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

III. How to be pure<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yield yourselves to God. Watch your:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a) Thoughts: Genesis 6:5; Proverbs 23:7<\/p>\n\n\n\n

b) Eyes: Matthew 5:28;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

c) Ears: Mark 4:24 \u201cTake heed what you hear.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

d) Tongue: Matthew 12:36,37; Psalm 34:13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IV. Rewards of Purity<\/strong>. Philippians 4:8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

^{\u201c<\/sup><\/strong>Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are<\/em> honest, whatsoever things are<\/em> just, whatsoever things are<\/em> pure, whatsoever things are<\/em> lovely, whatsoever things are<\/em> of good report; if there be<\/em> any virtue, and if there be<\/em> any praise, think on these things.\u201d<\/strong> Philippians 4:8<\/p>\n\n\n\n}

1. God\u2019s best blessings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Trustworthy and dependable. Proverbs 31:10-11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Clear conscience. Romans 14:22; Psalm 51.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Good understanding of people\u2019s character. Sin blinds and distorts values because people justify their sin. II Corinthians 4:4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Provides more opportunity for leadership and service. \u2018A bishop must be blameless\u2019 I Timothy 3:2,3 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Physical, mental and spiritual strength. Galatians 6:7-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conclusion:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will you choose purity of mind, rather than corruption in the world through lust?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
