Bible Reading: II Corinthians 9:1-15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aim: To increase in each of these areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Introduction: We either increase in our Christian life or decrease and backslide. Which are<\/p>\n\n\n\n
you doing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Question: What does God say that we must increase in?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1) Learning. \u201cA wise man will hear, and will increase learning.\u201d Proverbs 1:5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2) Generosity. \u201cThere is that scattereth, and yet increaseth\u2026\u201d Proverbs 11:24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3) Lifespan. \u201cfor by me (wisdom)\u2026 the years of thy life shall be increased.\u201d Proverbs 9:10,11. If we grow in wisdom, fear of the Lord and knowledge of the Lord, our lifespanwill be increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4) Joy. \u201cThe meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord.\u201d Isaiah 29:19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5) Faith. \u201cLord, increase our faith.\u201d Luke 17:5; Romans 10:17; II Cor 10:15. (I Thess 3:12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6) Love. \u201cThe Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n
toward all men\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7) Strength. \u201cSaul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dweltat Damascus.\u201d Acts 9:22; Isaiah 40:29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8) Knowledge. \u201cIncreasing in the knowledge of God.\u201d Colossians 1:10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
9) Fruits of righteousness. \u201cincrease the fruits of your righteousness.\u201d II Corinthians 9:10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
10) Christ. \u201cHe must increase, but I must decrease.\u201d John 3:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bad things that increase are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
i) Harlots increase transgressors among men (Proverbs 23:28), and<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ii) Profane and vain babblings increase unto more ungodliness. (2 Timothy 2:16).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
