Introduction<\/u><\/strong>:
Although there are many definitions of \u201cmaster\u201d, the primary one in Websters Dictionary is, \u201cA man who rules, governs, or directs, either men or business.
A man who owns slaves is their master; he who has servants is their Master; he who has apprentices is their master, as he has the government and direction of them.<\/li><\/ul>
The man who superintends and directs any business, is master, or master workman.\u201d<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>
The Bible gives the same kind of definition, i.e.; \u201cServants be subject to your master with all fear;\u201d (1 Pet. 2:18<\/strong>).<\/li><\/ul>\n
\n
It is a title that is used by the lesser acknowledging the greater \u2013 (Matt. 8:19; 10:24<\/strong>).\n
\n
The general public that has the opportunity to observe our lives, acknowledges who our master is \u2013 (Matt. 9:11; 17:24<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
I.\u00a0\u00a0 THE POSSIBLE HYPOCRISY IN THE WORD<\/u><\/strong>
A.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sign Seekers<\/strong> \u2013 (Matt. 12:38<\/strong>)
Acknowledging Christ as Master and asking Him for a sign at the same time is a contradiction (Prov. 27-18; 30:10<\/strong>).<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>
B.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Those who lie for their own gain<\/strong> \u2013 (Matt. 26:25<\/strong>)
Judas betrayed Christ for 30 pieces of silver and called Him Master.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>
C.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Those who attempt a trap<\/strong> \u2013 (Mk. 12:13-17<\/strong>)
There are many who claim to be Christians, yet disdain the words of Christ and look for so-called Bible contradictions.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n

D.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Those who Attempt to humanize God<\/strong> \u2013 (Mk. 10:17<\/strong>)
This is the only occasion where someone uses the word \u201cgood\u201d to precede master, even as people today use the term \u201cthe Good Lord\u201d.<\/li><\/ul>\n
\n
i.e.: \u201cThe Good Lord wouldn\u2019t send anybody to Hell\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
II. WHY DO SOME NOT WANT A \u201cMASTER\u201d?<\/u><\/strong>
A.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To avoid rebuke<\/strong> \u2013 (Lk. 11:45<\/strong>)
\u201cReprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.\u201d (Prov. 9:8<\/strong>)<\/li><\/ul>
\u201cHe that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.\u201d (Prov. 28:23<\/strong>)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>
B.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To avoid the call to service by faith<\/strong> \u2013 (Mk. 14:13,14<\/strong>)
Often Jesus calls on men to serve Him by going to a situation full of unknowns.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>
C.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To avoid following His example<\/strong> \u2013 (Jn. 13:14-17<\/strong>)
Jesus has led the way by example to what many would consider degrading duty.<\/li><\/ul>
We are to try to follow.
\u201cThe disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.\u201d (Lk. 6:40<\/strong>)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n

D.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To avoid going the extra mile<\/strong> \u2013 (Lk. 5:5<\/strong>)\n

\u201cAnd let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.\u201d (Gal. 6:9<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
III.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 THE RESULTS OF HAVING CHRIST AS YOUR MASTER<\/u><\/strong>
Note<\/u><\/strong>:
It should be noted that everyone has in reality one master \u2013 either the Lord or Satan.
\u201cNo man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.\u201d (Matt. 6:24<\/strong>)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>
A.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You have a source of truth<\/strong> \u2013 (Mk. 12:28-34<\/strong>)
\u201cJesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.\u201d (Jn. 14:6<\/strong>)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>
B.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You have one to look to in time of trouble<\/strong> \u2013 (Mk. 4:37-41; Lk. 9:37-42<\/strong>)
