\uf0f0 Text: Isaiah 49:13-16.
\uf0f0 Intro:
o We are going to see today from the scriptures that in all situations of life, the Lord remembers us and loves us.
o Illustration:
\u2022 A preacher was once driving along and he gave this fellow a lift.
\u2022 He shared the Gospel and the man received Christ as his Saviour.
\u2022 The man stayed for church next day, and decided that he wanted to live in the area and keep coming to that church.
\u2022 That week he came to the preacher with a bandage on his arm, with news that he had a surprise for his preacher.
\u2022 It turned out that he had tattooed the word \u2018Jesus\u2019 on his arm, because he wanted to tell people what Jesus had done for him.
\u2022 The Bible says that we ought not to get tattooed (Leviticus 19:28), but God uses this to illustrate His love for us.
\u2022 That is what Jesus has done for us.
o The people of Jerusalem said to God in Isaiah 49:14 \u2018my Lord hath forgotten me\u2019.
\u2022 The Lord replied, \u2018Can a woman forget her sucking child?\u2019 (v.15).
\u2022 Then in verse 16 God said, \u2018Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.\u2019
o Truth: \u2013 God has engraved us on the palms of his hands.
\u2022 When some men tattoo the names of their girlfriends on their arms, it\u2019s their way of saying that they love them.
o The Lord Jesus is saying to us:
\u2022 \u2018I love you so much.
\u2022 I always think of you.\u2019
o The Israelites said, \u2018Lord, have you forgotten us?\u2019
\u2022 Have you ever felt that the Lord has forgotten you?
\u2022 You may think that the Lord could not know your problems.
o God says in verse 16, \u2018Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands.\u2019
\uf0f0 Note:
o When the Lord uses the word \u2018Behold\u2019, it is a great sign word, and He is pointing to something special.
\u2022 This word points to a real treasure.
o God says, \u2018You think I\u2019m not conscious of your problems?
\u2022 You don\u2019t think I understand your burdens?
\u2022 Look, watch this, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands.\u2019
o You may have a photo of your loved ones in your wallet or purse.
\u2022 God says, \u2018Look at my hands.
\u2022 I have graven you on the palms of my hands.
\u2022 It\u2019s there forever.
\u2022 As long as my hands live, you are engraved there.\u2019
o God does know:
\u2022 -your burdens today;
\u2022 -your heartaches today;
\u2022 -where you live, and your street address;
\u2022 -your problems;
\u2022 -everything about you;
\u2022 -your sorrows;
\u2022 -your needs;
\u2022 -your perplexities;
\u2022 -your questions;
\u2022 -your distresses.
o He said, \u2018Look, I\u2019ve got you on the palms of my hands.\u2019
\u2022 God reminds us that He knows all about us.
o God is saying, \u2018O burdened soul, O wearied heart.
\u2022 Don\u2019t think I\u2019ve forgotten you.
\u2022 If you are facing troubles, burdens and sorrows, and feel that the whole world is falling out from under you, look at my hands.\u2019
o Your name is engraved on the hands of God the Father.
\uf0f0 Question: Do you know how many burdens we have here today?
o Answer: The same number of burdens present as we have people.
\uf0f0 The Scriptures say that God has our names in 3 places:
o 1) Our names are written on His heart;
o 2) Our names are written on His shoulders;
o 3) Our names are written on the palms of His hands.
\uf0f0 (1) Our names are in the heart of God, so God never forgets to love us.
o Remember what the Jewish High Priest would wear?
\u2022 He wore the breastplate with the 12 Tribes of Israel engraved on the breastplate, each engraved on a precious stone.
\u2022 Read Exodus 28:15-21,29.
\uf0f0 (2) Our names are on God\u2019s shoulders, showing what?
o That God always gives us security and supports us.
\u2022 He is always holding us up.
\u2022 Read Exodus 28:6-12.
\uf0f0 (3) Our names are on His hands to show God\u2019s care for us.
o God says to us:
\u2022 \u2018I\u2019ve got you in my heart to let you know that I always love you.\u2019
\u2022 \u2018I\u2019ve got you on my shoulders to let you know that you are always secure.\u2019
\u2022 \u2018I\u2019ve got you in the palms of my hands to let you know that I\u2019ll always care for your every need.\u2019
\uf0f0 Conclusion:
o You are engraved on the hands of God with the precious blood of His own Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
\u2022 There are scars in His hands today.
\u2022 There are scars in His hands today where He shed His own precious blood to pay for your sins, so you could go to heaven, be saved forever and be a child of God.
o So with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the engraving took place on the hands of God.
\u2022 Zech13:6.
o Question: Is your name in God\u2019s hands?
\u2022 Have you received Jesus Christ as your Saviour?
\u2022 Do so today.
\u2022 Are you engraved in the palms of Christ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
