{"id":4540,"date":"2026-10-10T02:21:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-10T02:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allthecounselofgod.com\/?p=4540"},"modified":"2026-10-10T02:21:16","modified_gmt":"2026-10-10T02:21:16","slug":"a-wise-wholesome-tongue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allthecounselofgod.com\/index.php\/2026\/10\/10\/a-wise-wholesome-tongue\/","title":{"rendered":"A Wise Wholesome Tongue"},"content":{"rendered":"<body>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Text:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Proverbs-12-18\/\">Prov 12:18<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Intro<\/strong>:<ul><li>In prior studies we studied the unruly tongue and its wicked manifestations.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>In this study we will study a wise wholesome tongue and its various manifestations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>A good tongue is a<\/em><\/strong><em>:<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wise tongue<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Proverbs-12-18\/\">Prov 12:18<\/a> \u2013 \u201cthe tongue of the wise is health,\u201d [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Proverbs-15-2\/\">Prov 15:2<\/a>].\u00a0<ul><li>Pray for a wise tongue [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/James-1-5\/\">Jas 1:5<\/a>].\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Solomon prayed for understanding and God gave him a wise and understanding heart [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Kings-3-9\/\">1 Kings 3:9<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Kings-3-12\/\">1 Kings 3:12<\/a>].\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Get in the Bible and let the Bible get in you.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Stand where the Bible stands and say what the Bible says.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Learn to say the right thing, in the right way, at the right time [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Proverbs-15-23\/\">Prov 15:23<\/a>]. \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wholesome tongue<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Proverbs-15-4\/\">Prov 15:4<\/a> \u2013 \u201ca wholesome tongue is a tree of life.\u201d\u00a0<ul><li>Rather than criticize others and complain to God, find ways to encourage and strengthen others.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Discouragement knocks a lot of people out of the race.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Encourage them with a wholesome tongue.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Give them excellent counsel.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It should be our desire to edify others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Soft tongue<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Proverbs-25-15\/\">Prov 25:15<\/a> \u2013 \u201ca soft tongue breaketh the bone.\u201d\u00a0<ul><li>People think they need to be demanding and mean to persuade someone who is adamant.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>But the Bible says that a soft tongue is what is needed.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>You don\u2019t have to beat them down.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Speak softly and let the words of God do the work.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Proverbs-15-1\/\">Prov 15:1<\/a>, \u201ca soft answer turneth away wrath\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Confessing tongue<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-10-9_10-10\/\">Rom 10:9-10<\/a> \u2013 \u201cThat if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus\u2026\u201d\u00a0<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Philippians-2-11\/\">Phil 2:11<\/a>, \u201cevery tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.\u201d<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Romans-14-11\/\">Rom 14:11<\/a>, \u201cevery tongue shall confess to God.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We need to confess the Lord Jesus Christ before men that others who don\u2019t know him can get to know him.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bridled tongue<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Job-6-24\/\">Job 6:24<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-34-13\/\">Psa 34:13<\/a> \u2013 \u201cI will hold my tongue,\u201d [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-39-1\/\">Psa 39:1<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Proverbs-21-23\/\">Prov 21:23<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/James-1-26\/\">Jas 1:26<\/a>].\u00a0<ul><li>You are better off saying nothing than saying something foolish.\u00a0 W.A.I.T.
