The Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<body>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Text:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-71-8\/\"><strong>Ps 71:8<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-71-15\/\"><strong>15<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Into<\/strong>:<ul><li>Three times in Psalm 71, David used the phrase \u201call the day.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>In Ps 71:8 he wrote, \u201cLet my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>\u00a0In Ps 71:15 he wrote, \u201cMy mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Ps 71:24 he wrote, \u201cMy tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notice that these are all references to what David did with his mouth or with his tongue.\u00a0<ul><li>He used his mouth to praise God, honour God, shew forth his righteousness, and shew forth his salvation all the day.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>As Christians, we can learn a great lesson from David.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We should do all day what he did.\u00a0 <em>All the day<\/em>:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>My mouth shall be filled with thy praise<\/strong> \u2013<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-71-8\/\">Ps 71:8<\/a> \u2013<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-34-1\/\">Ps 34:1<\/a> David wrote, \u201cI will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>By the time David wrote these passages, he had evidently come to the place in his life where he was praising God vocally all day long.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Did you know that we are supposed to praise God continually?\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-13-15\/\">Heb 13:15<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Just imagine what praising God with your mouth all day long would do to your life.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Imagine how pleased God would be with your praise, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Hebrews-13-16\/\">Heb 13:16<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>The best way to praise God with your mouth continually is by singing hymns and giving thanks.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>These are two things that you can and should do all the day no matter where you spend your days.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In everything give thanks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Thessalonians-5-18\/\">1 Thes 5:18<\/a>, and for everything give thanks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Ephesians-5-20\/\">Eph 5:20<\/a>, all day long.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>My mouth shall be filled with thy honour<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-71-8\/\">Ps 71:8<\/a> \u2013<ul><li>\u00a0David wasn\u2019t writing about lip service here, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Isaiah-29-13\/\">Is 29:13<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>He wrote about real honour.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>David was the king, the highest position of authority in the land.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>And yet he humbled himself and honored God, instead of himself.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>He magnified the Lord, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-34-3\/\">Ps 34:3<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Just think about all the people who speak to the dishonor of God today.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>They curse and take his name in vain.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>They lie about his words and deny the truth of what he said and what he did.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>God is the creator of the universe.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Yet they deny that he exists or that he created us.\u00a0 He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Yet they scoff at the promise of his return to rule.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>We should honor him with everything we say all the day.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>You say, \u201cBut they don\u2019t want to hear that.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>And I say, \u201cYes, but the Lord sure wants to hear us honor him and he deserves every bit of honor we can give him, all day long, everyday.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Do you know anyone else in the world that is going to honor him, if his own children don\u2019t?\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>God is our Father; we are his children.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Children are commanded to honor their parents.\u00a0 Our mouth should be filled with God\u2019s honor all the day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-71-15\/\">Ps 71:15<\/a> \u2013<ul><li>God is righteous.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-119-160\/\">Ps 119:160<\/a> says, \u201cThy word is true from the beginning; and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>What God says about a matter or how God judges a matter or a person is right every single time.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>You and I shew forth the righteousness of God with our mouths when we speak as the oracles of God, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/1-Peter-4-11\/\">1 Pet 4:11<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>God\u2019s words are right all the time.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>You say, \u201cBut there are so many people who don\u2019t believe God\u2019s words.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>True enough.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>But the fact that they don\u2019t believe God doesn\u2019t make them right and God wrong.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>They need to know where God stands on everything.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Imagine a college student who unashamedly proclaims God\u2019s righteousness among his or her peers on campus.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>What an outstanding Christian they would be.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Imagine what your life would be like if you could speak of God\u2019s righteousness in every conversation.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>You can do this.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can shew forth the righteousness of God all the day.\u00a0 The question is, \u201cWill you?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>My mouth shall shew forth thy salvation<\/strong> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-71-15\/\">Ps 71:15<\/a> \u2013<ul><li>Do you know how to lead others to the Lord?\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>The answer is simple.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Your mouth must shew forth the Lord\u2019s salvation.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>There was a group of folks who were learning in their church about \u00a0soul winning for six months.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>When asked \u00a0\u201cHave you been out yet?\u201d \u201cNo.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>You can and should study about leading others to the Lord.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>But I have found that they don\u2019t get saved until you open your mouth and preach the gospel to them.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>David said, \u201cmy mouth shall shew forth thy salvation.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>And he said he did this \u201call the day.\u201d\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>We need to shew forth the Lord\u2019s salvation all the day.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You know people who need to hear about the Lord\u2019s salvation from you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Conclusion<\/strong>:<ul><li>All the day we talk about a lot of different things.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>David has given us four things to say that should occupy our mouth all day.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Our mouth should be filled with the Lord\u2019s praise, with his honor, with his righteousness, and with his salvation.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>We should take what we have heard today to heart.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>We should pray now and ask the Lord to really help us do with our mouths what David did with his.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>After all, like David, we don\u2019t know the numbers of our days, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingjamesbibleonline.org\/Psalms-71-15\/\">Ps 71:15<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>So, we should plan to use the rest of them to proclaim his praise, honor, righteousness, and salvation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Text: Ps 71:8,
