Greeting in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,<\/p>\n
May you grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
Our Text for today comes from the Book of Hebrews Chapter 11, verse 16.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.\u201d<\/p>\n
I ask you this today do you desire a better country?\u00a0 Or are you still mindful of the country from whence you came out.\u00a0 \u201cThe country from whence you came is the world that Jesus saved you out of when you trust Him as your personal Saviour for the forgiveness of your sins.<\/p>\n
The better country that you should desire is heaven.\u00a0 Are you home sick for heaven?<\/p>\n
Are you looking forward to that day when you will see Jesus face to face?<\/p>\n
My dear friend let us see why it is \u201ca better country\u201d<\/p>\n
Let return to verse 16 of Hebrews 11.<\/p>\n
It is \u201ca better country\u201d\u00a0 number 1 \u2013 Because of its \u201cPlace\u201d<\/p>\n
Verse 16 \u2013 \u201c\u2026they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly:\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
It is a better country because of its Place \u2013 Heaven!!!!! \u2013 Please read Revelation Chapter 21 \u2013 for a complete description of the better country\u00a0<\/strong>awaiting you.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>It is a \u201cbetter country\u201d number 2 \u2013 Because of its \u201cPerson\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Verse 16 \u2013 \u201c\u2026wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God:\u201d<\/p>\n It is a better country because of its Person \u2013 God!!!<\/p>\n We will dwell eternally in the presence of God never to be separated from Him!!! \u2013 Amen!!!<\/p>\n It is a \u201cbetter country\u201d number 3 \u2013 Because of its \u201cPreparation\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Verse 16 \u2013 \u201c\u2026for he hath prepared for them a city.\u201d<\/p>\n It is a better country because of its Preparation<\/strong> \u2013 Jesus said in John 14:1-3,<\/p>\n \u201cLet not your heart be troubles: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father\u2019s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
